ELLE FREESTONE
Since 2011, Elle has been showing artistic work in galleries and collective exhibitions. Elle Freestone’s painting is embedded on the transient nature of process, materials and techniques. She investigates her ideas through labour intensive activities that are designed to reveal, expose and emphasize buried visual information.
An abstract expressionist, Elle Freestone’s paintings explore structure and movement – to make works that are dynamic, moody and intriguing. An emerging painter she works to express her immediate interests and concerns, personal in nature, global in effect.

Based in Kawhia, West Coast a surroundings rich in natural imagery. I have embraced my creative process.
Decisions about the layering of colour, composition elements and formal properties such as contrast, balance and forms are all considered. Using an established technique of layering several coats of paint, applying shapes and forms within these layers, which may seem somewhat random. I love to explore explore the accidental, the random and the intuitive..
